Test a Gambling System and Reduce Your Losses

Some casino games require skill, but others rely on sheer luck. When there is little to nothing that you can do to affect the outcome of a game such as slots, roulette or even baccarat, you can test a betting system and find one that helps you better manage your money. The two that are most commonly used are the Martingale and the Dozen systems.

The Dozen

With the Dozen in roulette, the idea is to keep an eye on the wheel for a few rounds prior to making a wager and note which "dozen" in which the ball lands - either in the low, the middle or the high sections. Then, if you notice that the ball has not landed in one of these sections for five spins, you will place your wager using a simple chart. For the first wager, you will stake $1, for the second you will stake $2, for the third you will stake $3 and so on until you get to your 10th bet.

The Martingale

The Martingale is a bit different in that you won't be relying on the low, middle and high sections; rather, you will only be staking on even money wagers such as red or black, high or low, and even or odd. You will start spending right away, staking only one unit for as long as your bets continue to win. If one should lose, then you double your wager and keep doubling until you have won again. This is a powerful way to test a betting system, but it is possible to quickly exceed table limits if you go on a losing streak.

Regardless of the system you choose, the only real way to improve your odds of winning is to stick to games that require skill over luck and learn the basic strategies. While the systems above can help you mitigate and perhaps even recoup losses, it is better to avoid losing money in the first place.
